Helping Your Child to Learn to Read

Do you have a child struggling as a beginning reader having difficulty with Kindergarten  or Years 1-3  reading ?

My basic approach is to show you, the parent, how you may develop your child's reading, starting from learning the alphabet or wherever he/she is at.

Areas we cover are :

• How to make your child a successful reader, not in 2 years time, but tomorrow, through repetition, speed tests, performance reading, so that he/she is a good reader at his present level of reading.
• Building success and confidence through mastery learning -- mastery of all preceding work, leading to confidence and the ability to handle the current task with success.
• The important of key words and phonics, and how to develop them. How key words can accelerate progress.
• A suggested series of economical readers for use at home.
